Werner Huck is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Clinical Research (ACR), Utah and Idaho. His vision of developing quality community-based research centers committed to enhancing quality of life is represented in ACR's contributions. He has led ACR's successful contributions to the development of more than 200 compounds in over 25 years and has conducted over 850 clinical trials. Mr. Huck has expertise in outpatient anti-infective development with emphasis on community-acquired pneumonia and sinusitis. He has over 30 years experience and has authored numerous publications in medical journals. Mr. Huck participates in medical writing and also consults on protocol development. He is a graduate of the University of Utah, degreed and board certified in clinical microbiology. He is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), and the Association of Clinical Research Practitioners (ACRP).
Judith Kirstein, MD - Medical Director, ACR-Utah
Dr. Judith Kirstein grew up in Los Angeles, California, and since July 1981, she has been practicing medicine in West Jordan, Utah. Dr. Kirstein founded Jordan Valley Family Health in 1984, now one of the largest independent Family Practices in the Salt Lake Valley. She began her research career with ACR in 1992. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, and a member of the Utah Medical Association, the Salt Lake County Medical Society and the AMA. Dr. Kirstein is board certified in family practice and is also associated with the clinical faculty of the University Of Utah College Of Medicine. Dr. Kirstein attended medical school at UCLA, where she holds a Masters degree in nursing, as well as a Doctor of Medicine degree.
Jean Blackburn - President
As President of Rapid Medical Research, Inc. (RMR) and Advanced Clinical Research, INC. (ACR), Jean has been active in clicial research for over 17 years. Since starting RMR in Cleveland in 1997, Jean has grown RMR into a leading national independent clinical research site with expertise in women's health and internal medicine. Since its inception, RMR has conducted Phase II-IV clinical truals in over 40 therapeutic areas for the pharmaceutical industry. More recently, Jean oversaw the acquisition, integration and strategic development of two similarly situated clinical research centers (ACR) in Salt Lake City and Boise. As President of both organizations, she manages over 60 employees conducting 70 or more multi-therapeutic clinical studies at any given time. Jean recieved her undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from Ursuline College and a MBA from John Carroll University. She held the positions of Clinical Research Coordinator and Clinical Research Administrator in the Department of Reproductive Biology at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals of Cleveland Department of OB/GYN between 1991 and 1997 before becoming co-founder and Managing Director of RMR.

Scott A. Tornblom, CPA, is an experienced member of the management team with over 15 years working with closely held companies in all aspects of merger and acquisition, operations, finance, and information reporting.
Justin Ganley - Business Director
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Justin has been managing clinical research sites since 2006. Justin recieved his bachelors degree in finance from Xavier University and a Master of Business Administration from John Carroll University.
Jeremy Rigby, MBA -UT Site Director
Jeremy joins ACR from ICON Clinical Research where he was most recently a Lead CRA, managing CRA teams on various clinical trial projects. During his career, Jeremy has worked at both small pharmaceutical and global CRO companies. His experience includes managing clinical trial projects, assembly and submission of New Drug Applications, study protocol development, study site selection and monitoring, managing clinical investigator site audit projects, negotiating study budgets and contracts, and managing CRA teams.
Jeremy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business.
Allie Lopez - CCRC - Idaho Site Manager
Allie Lopez grew up in Washington State. She moved to the Boise area in 2000 with a strong background in management. She started her career in clinical research in 2000 with an SMO as the Regulatory Administrator soon thereafter the position of Financial Administrator was added to her title. Having the desire to work directly with the patients she chose to be a Research Assistant and was promoted quickly to CRC. Her background in research covers a variety of therapeutic areas. In 2006 she was certified through ACRP while working as a Research Coordinator for Idaho Cardiology. In 2007 she took the position as Site Manager for ACR, Boise.
Suzanne Mayer, BS, CCRP - Clinical Operations Manager, UT
Suzanne joins ACR from The Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. She worked most recently as a Research Compliance Officer, where she was responsible for training new research staff and monitoring and auditing internally conducted studies. Previous to this, Suzanne worked as a Research Coordinator, coordinating therapeutic trials across all phases and functioning as the senior CRC for both gynecologic oncology and sarcoma research teams. In addition, Suzanne has experience in protocol development, regulatory and grant submission. She has worked with research teams across a variety of therapeutic areas at the University of Utah including radiology, neurology, hematology and oncology. Suzanne received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah in sociology and economics. She is certified as a Clinical Research Professional by the Society of Clinical Research Associates.
Lauri A. Tawney, CCRP - Clinical Operations Manager, ID
Lauri comes to ACR with over 15 years of experience in clinical research. She has worked in various positions from Clinical Research Coordinator to Site Manager and Quality Assurance Associate. She was certified through Association of Clinical Research Professional in 1998 and has maintained her certification for over 10 years. Lauri received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. In 2011, she joined ACR as Clinical Operations Manager in Boise, ID.
